We’ve covered the top GH3 searches and how the game has transformed Dragonforce’s “Through the Fire and Flames” into a legendary challenge. But which tunes should the developers consider for the inevitable Guitar Hero IV?
For a hint of what’s hot among true guitar gods, we checked the top song guitar tab searches. As noted below, four of the top 20 tabs have already been featured in the game, but the remaining 16 give the game makers a unique insight into what to feature in the next edition of Guitar Hero…

Top NFL player search spikes from a Sunday full of football…
—Eli Manning (+515%): The Giants QB was sacked five times in a loss to the division rival Cowboys. Throwing two interceptions didn’t help matters.
—Jeremy Shockey (+504%): Eli’s favorite target on Sunday. New York’s favorite bad boy stepped up with 12 catches for 129 yards.
—Brett Favre (+396%): Is he glad he didn’t retire? You betcha. The legendary Packers QB is performing like the Favre of old. If only he could get people to stop searching for “brett farve.”
—Braylon Edwards (+232%): Browns big reciever had a quiet afternoon with only one catch. It went for a touchdown. But still.
—Peyton Manning (+215%): Wow. The Colts QB put up one of his worst stat lines ever and almost pulled out the win. Six interceptions! There goes the QB rating crown.
—Ben Roethlisberger (+212%): Big Ben wowed Steelers fans with a thrilling comeback win over the Browns. His 30-yard touchdown rumble was a sight to see, but his final touchdown pass sealed the win.
—Derek Anderson (+191%): Browns QB passed for three touchdowns in the loss to the Steelers. However, his yardage total was paltry (123) and his completion percentage dismal (45.7%).
—Tony Romo (+186%): The toast of Dallas led the Cowboys to victory in New York. He threw four touchdown passes, and his two scoring hookups with T.O. were things of beauty.
—Tank Johnson (+153%): The troubled ex-Bear made his Cowboy debut after a lengthy suspension. The large defensive end was right back into the fray with a sack of Eli Manning.
—Brian Westbrook (+134%): Versatile Eagles RB caught two touchdown passes and ran for another. With 183 yards of total offense, Westbrook helped decimate the Redskins defense.

There are three things for which we’re happy to pay a premium—fancy food, fancy toilet paper, and fancy cars. We’d love to devote an entire column to the top toilet paper searches, but instead we’ll focus on which 2008 cars are getting the most love in Search.
Though its far from the sexiest ride on the road, the 2008 Chevy Malibu is the most searched-for automobile over the past seven days. That’s likely due to the omnipresent “Soon there will be a car you can’t ignore” commercials. Other models making impressive showings in Buzz include the 2008 Honda Accord, the 2008 Nissan Altima, and the 2008 Ford Focus.
For whatever reason, many of the most searched-for models are sensible sedans. We had to look a bit further down the list to find some rides that burned rubber. We ended up with plenty, including the 2008 Chevy Camero, the 2008 Dodge Challenger, and the 2008 Nissan Skyline.
Here’s a complete list of the top 20 searches, from boring family cars to kick-butt coupes. Buckle up and enjoy.

Around Thanksgiving time, certain fowl might think themselves safe, with the turkey serving as the sacrifical holiday goat—so to speak.
Such thoughts would be premature. Searches for that poultry triple threat, “turducken,” are up an amazing 530%. And that’s thanks in large to the gents. While ladies make up the majority (69%) of “thanksgiving turkey” queries, the men conduct more than half (52%) of the look-ups on turducken.
Some of our feathered friends may rest a bit easier, knowing that “honey-baked ham” gets twice as much online interest as the bird bundle. No reprieve for the turkey however: People are looking up ways to deep fry, roast or smoke the turkey. As for the tofurkey—soy isn’t making many menus.
Now that we’ve taken care of the main dish, with less than two weeks to go, here’s the rest of the Thanksgiving menu from the Buzz bounty.

The crafty folks who work on Apple’s commercial campaigns have done it again. After creating a smashing success with Feist and the iPod Nano ads, buzz on the new iPod Touch commercial is busting out all over.
The spot features a quick-cut tour of the gadget’s features backed by a rhythmic beat and an enchanting female voice. The tune starts with the words “music is my boyfriend” and searchers got busy looking up that phrase. However, those words aren’t the song’s title.
Truly intrepid diggers turned up the real title—the naughty sounding “Music is My Hot Hot Sex.” Searches on the catchy tune have jumped from zero into the thousands just over the past week and related queries on “music is my hot hot sex lyrics” and “music is my boyfriend lyrics” are surging.
So, who’s behind this catchy tune? None other than indie fave Cansei de Ser Sexy (also known as CSS). Searches on the Brazilian band are up a whopping 300% this week. Not bad for a band whose name means “tired of being sexy” in Portuguese.
As for Apple, it’s another buzzworthy win. Their agency took the commercial’s brilliant concept from a British college student and reaped the rewards. Searches on “ipod touch commercial song,” “ipod touch,” and “ipod touch review” have all jumped over 50% this week. Hot hot, indeed.

Maybe its a lengthy Halloween hangover. Perhaps it’s the plucky pair that go by the names of Kynt and Vyxsin on the new season of “The Amazing Race.” More likely, it’s the gloomy onset of shorter days and longer nights. Whatever it is, we’ve been pondering goth culture. We’re not the only ones. Folks who embrace the dreary and dark side of life are making their mark in Search.
Over the past month, we’ve seen large search spikes on “goth clothing,” “goths,” and “goth girls.” Halloween was responsible for a large spike in “gothic costumes” searches, but dressing like a goth once a year pales in comparison to folks who live the lifestyle every dismal day. For some insight into the gothic mind, we dabbed on a little white pancake makeup and delved into the top 20 goth searches from the past week…

Talk of a televised Osmond family reunion temporarily faded into the background after news that patriarch, George Osmond, died at the age of 90 earlier this week.
Marie Osmond flew home to be with her kin, skipping out on Tuesday’s “Dancing With the Stars” results show. Her absence won’t be permanent though, according to an ABC publicist. Among searchers, Marie’s the family favorite, with queries on “marie osmond hot,” “marie osmond dancing with the stars,” “marie osmond dolls,” and “marie osmond biography.” Though her fainting episode has been all but forgotten in the news, folks are still dialing up “marie osmond faints.”
Will Marie remain the most popular after the family reunites Friday on “Oprah“? Over 120 members of the Osmond clan taped the show on Wednesday, which was initially planned as a celebration of their 50th anniversary in entertainment. Anticipation for the event prompted searches on “the osmonds 50th anniversary,” “the osmonds family,” “osmond brothers,” and matriarch “olive osmond” (who passed away in 2004). Considering this week’s sad news, the TV show will also serve as a tribute to George, who managed the early singing careers of his children.

Religion is a touchy subject. Pose a few questions about pastors in Rolls Royces and ministers in McMansions, and folks might brand you a blasphemer. Yet, despite resistance, reporters, concerned citizens, and watchdog groups are investigating megarich ministries.
Senator Charles Grassley, ranking member of the Senate Finance Committe, is looking into the financial details of a select group of media-savvy ministries. These particular evangelicals, who teach what’s called “prosperity Gospel,” were greeted by official letters asking about assets, board meetings, executive compensation, and plenty more. All the ministries in question found their search profiles rise to heavenly heights.
Who is the host on the hotseat? Following is the list of evangelicals, sought by Senator Grassley and searchers and ranked by their respective Buzz:
According to the New York Times, if the donations that folks have given to these churches—tax exempt organizations—”were diverted for personal use, that could violate the tax code.” Grassley’s political sermon on the mount came with a deadline and a threat of IRS audits or congressional hearings.

For folks angling for the biggest bargains, buzz is warming up. Over the past week, searches on Black Friday are up 145%. By now, you have to be familiar with the concept of retailers slashing prices for enormous day-after-Thanksgiving sales.
If you’re still in the dark about Black Friday, you’re in the minority. Even being a sterotypical shopping-hatin’ dude isn’t an excuse any more—41% of searches on the big day are from guys.
