All cell phones may appear alike, but there are actually tons of teeny, tiny differences. In fact, there are so many different brands and models, we had to consult the Buzz data to determine which ones are hottest in Search.
Below are the top 20 “cell phone” searches from the past seven days. Note that “iPhone” didn’t make the cut since few people search on “iphone cell phone.” Make sense?

The arrival of Thanksgiving is imminent. Do you know how you will prepare your turkey? Searchers who won’t settle for second best for their holiday feast sent buzz on “best thanksgiving turkey recipe” up 49% this week.
But what’s best for the bird? From our perspective, brine has the most buzz. Searches on “brining turkey” are up a staggering 1,436% this week and related queries on “turkey brine” and “how to brine a turkey” are also basting in the Buzz.
Deep frying comes in a close second in terms of technique. Lookups for “deep fried turkey recipe” are up 577% over the past seven days. Aficionados of crispy birds are also busy looking for “fried turkey,” “electric turkey fryer,” and “cajun deep fried turkey.”

Don’t fret if you’re stuck on the basics. You’re not alone. Buzz on “how long to cook a turkey,” “how much turkey per person,” and “how to cook a turkey” illustrate that there are always beginning bird cookers with a cornucopia of questions.

According to The Times of London, basketball great Michael Jordan has settled divorce proceedings with his ex-wife, Juanita. The final deal? A record $168 million, a slam dunk of celebrity splits.
Some Windy City writers seized the moment to rhapsodize about the legendary Bulls star. But not everyone was buying it. At least one sports columnist rejected the claim—and felt a little miffed that a Brit broke the news, too.
Regardless of the statement’s truthiness, the story alone was enough to boost buzz on “His Airness.” Over the past week, searches for his pictures leapt 1,597%. Demand for his ever-popular shoes jumped. And queries for his name more than doubled.
A mammoth amount of money isn’t the only thing passing the NBA champ up the Search chart. Before the divorce news hit, Jordan’s son Jeffrey made his college debut on the court. Just the idea of another Jordan playing hoops scored “jeffrey jordan” a 2,051% rise. Demand for his brother Marcus and his mom also surged. For that moment, the entire family hung in the upper reaches of Buzz, in true Air Jordan style.

Like any self-respecting cinematic smash, “Om Shanti Om” comes equipped with a luscious leading lady (Deepika Padukone), a veteran luminary (Shah Rukh Khan), a big name director (Farah Khan), and an eyebrow raising set of abs (”King” Khan, once more). Think “300″ meets campy musical.
Now, buzz for the Bollywood spectacle is breaking out all over. Thanks primarily to searchers under the age of 17, the flick has cracked our top 15 movie searches. Demand for its wallpapers, songs, lyrics, and reviews are hitting the high notes in Search.
The big dance numbers don’t stop there. The musical/love story/reincarnation/spoof has topped India’s box office, drawn throngs of crowds in the U.K., and grossed $1.7 million in its first three days in the U.S. It may just be a matter of time before we’re all clasping our hands and saying, “Om.”

The first day of Winter is just over a month away and temperatures have tumbled. One way to ward off the impending deep freeze is to bundle up. Searches on scarves, jackets, and sweaters spike as the weather gets increasingly colder. For us, the first sign of the mercury dropping is the disappearance of the fashionable flip-flop.
While some dare to sport the sandal look all year long, others come to grips with the cold and grudgingly slip on shoes and socks. Searches on “socks” are up 10% over the past month as the climate chills out. Which socks are most popular with our dear searchers? We poked a hole in the data and checked the top 20 socks over the past week…

Since Nintendo’s hit console launched, the wee, white Wii has been in short supply. That’s a great indicator of the product’s unsinkable popularity.
In Search as in real life, the demand for the Nintendo Wii has been consistently high. The big difference is that Search can actually deliver. Since it first arrived in late 2006, searches on the Wii have steadily increased, and we’ve got a colorful box to prove it. We merged common search terms for the Nintendo Wii and for the PlayStation 3, along with the Xbox 360 and stacked up their buzz charts over the last year
.
Now that holiday madness is amassing in the shopping aisles, a Wii shortage could be sad news for the company’s bottom line. And phenomenal news for Sony and Microsoft, who should be lining up to woo spurned buyers of the Wii with an Xbox 360 or a PS3.

Life on the campaign trail is hectic. For Rudy Giuliani, it’s been especially busy lately.
Besides making the usual stump speeches, the Republican presidential candidate has had to sidestep questions about Bernard Kerik, his one-time prison chief, police commissioner, and protégé. Kerik was recently indicted on federal corruption charges—many of them from the years he reported to Giuliani.
The ex-mayor of New York has also had to “laugh off” the $100 million lawsuit brought by Kerik’s ex-squeeze, Judith Regan. The publisher is claiming she was forced to lie to investigators about Kerik “because of the implications for Giuliani.”
Despite the feet shuffling and chuckles, Giuliani hasn’t squelched the reaction to these events. News of Kerik’s alleged misdeeds has spread like a grease fire across the Web. Yesterday, searches for “bernard kerik” leapt 1,222%. On Yahoo! News, demand for “giuliani kerik” now falls just behind “rudy giuliani” and “giuliani poll.” And buzz on “judith regan” is surging.
There is a bright point for the candidate. Lookups for “rudy giuliani” have remained steady. Maybe if the candidate stays dynamic at the podium, searchers will soon forget his association with the beleagured Bernie.

Fact #1: Nothing says “I have no taste” like a collection of prominently displayed Celine Dion CDs.
Fact #2: Searches on “celine dion concert,” “celine dion lyrics,” and (shudder) “buy celine dion tickets” are all on the rise.
Conclusion: Much like the war on drugs, we’re losing the war on cheesy music.
The disturbing surge on all things Celine stems from her upcoming tour. The Canadian crooner will perform all over the world, no doubt converting many otherwise well-adjusted folks into Titanic-loving goobers. Oh, the humanity!
It’s a depressing thought, but there is at least one bright spot. A look at the age of searches indicates that folks 35 and older are responsible for the vast majority of lookups. Perhaps future generations of resolute young people will break this vicious cycle of diva-worship.
Still, this is America. And if folks want to search for Celine, we suppose they have the right. So, on that note, we present the top 10 Celine Dion searches from the past week. Take a look, but beware. Your soul may be dying with each click of the mouse.

Hey idiots, Grumpy Grandpa here. You know, I rarely agree with what I see on TV. However the other day, between oatmeal bites, I caught a commercial that I couldn’t help but love. It was a “preview” for a moving picture entitled “No Country for Old Men.”
I didn’t pay much attention to what the movie was about. I was too busy cleaning up the oatmeal I’d just spit up. Fortunately, the title told me everything I needed to know. This is a movie about the fact that this country is not for old men. Heck, I could have told Hollywood that years ago!
Inspired by the knowledge that somebody in showbiz understands what it’s like to be a grumpy grandpa, I did some research on whether this “talkie” is getting much buzz. Just as sure as Liz Taylor was a looker, ”No Country” is drawing in the searches. Interest in the geriatric masterpiece is up 314% this week and related searches on “coen brothers” and “no country for old men reviews” are surging. Strangely, folks 65 and older make up just 3% of the searches.
So, now that mainstream America has shown it’s ready for an uncompromising vision of what it’s like to be an old man, will other films follow suit? How about “No Continent for Old Ladies”? Hey, if it stars Liz Taylor, I’m there.

Sharpen your scissors, girls. “Project Runway” is back.
On Wednesday night, Bravo’s fashion phenom returns for its fourth season. Fifteen contestants will vie for the title of America’s next great designer as they attempt to charm the judges, stitch the hemlines, and dodge the fast-slinging barbs. Auf!
The long break before the series’ return hasn’t dampened its buzz. Lookups for “project runway” and “project runway season 4” are strutting through Search. Bravo can thank the fashionistas for the online action: Nearly 80% of the show’s queries come from females.
Eager fans also boosted buzz on Seasons 2 and 3 this week. However, when it comes to the winners and wackos of Runway’s past, the show’s second season takes the audience award. The only past contestants to continue to draw buzz are from year 2. Santino Rice, Chloe Dao, and Daniel Vosovic popped in Search this week. That means Kara Saun, Wendy Pepper, Jay McCarroll, Uli Herzner, Michael Knight, and Jeffrey Sebelia failed the Buzz challenge. Sorry guys, you’re out.
As for the grownups on the other side of the catwalk, Heidi Klum remains a Search magnet and buzz is besotted with Tim Gunn. Queries for the sartorial sage surged nearly 900% over the past week. No matter what happens, we can all rest easy knowing Tim Gunn will make it work. Welcome back, Runway!
