The imminent return of “Nip/Tuck” to the cable airwaves has resuscitated buzz on the plastic surgery soap. Searches on the over-the-top sudser are up 24% over the past week, showing that fans are scrubbed and prepped for the return of McNamara/Troy. And it will be a glitzy return for the dastardly docs—they’ve left Miami in the rear view and will now be plying their plastic trade in L.A.
Fans hungry for info on how the season will unfold are busy trying to uncover “nip tuck spoilers.” Viewers who don’t want to know the plotlines in advance are looking up “nip tuck season premiere” and “nip tuck season 5” and setting the DVR in anticipation.
Ladies’ choice Julian McMahon plays the caddish doc Christian Troy and the actor continues to slice away at the Search box. The handsome actor’s buzz is up 10% this week and he sews up way more searches than Dylan Walsh, who plays his partner in the scalpel biz.
Tuck’s made its name with wacky stunt casting, and this season promises buzzworthy roles for Portia de Rossi, Vanessa Redgrave, and yes, Rosie O’Donnell. Oh yes, they’re bringing back the popular Dawn Budge character played by the former “View” hostess. No word on whether Dr. Troy will have to provide his “services” to Ms. Budge again this season, but we’re sure there will be Buzz either way.
